BAMBOO & BAMBU – A strong manufacturing base is the core competitive advantage in the business of bamboo products design and delivery. Since BIL became a shareholder, Greezu has established as one of the best bamboo factories in China, with its core strengths in (i) bamboo structure, and (ii) delivering bespoke bamboo solutions. Greezu exports to 39 countries globally, and is the supplier to major international bamboo projects including the Ilan and Asaf Ramon International Airport at Israel, and the new Guwahati international airport in India.
SUPER BAMBOO – BIL has identified innovation as the key to sustained growth. We focus to research on the bamboo material itself – attempting to re-structure the cellular and fabric structure of natural bamboo to enhance its fundamental physical properties, leading to better and stronger bamboo material. Our aim in Super Bamboo is to deliver innovative low embodied carbon bamboo materials & products with high quality functionality at competitive cost. Super Bamboo is going through the registration process of two new patents, both of which are going to be turned into globally innovative products in the coming months:
1. BioBond. It is the world’s first 100% biobased bamboo panel with zero synthetic resin and formaldehyde glue. Most importantly, it is available at competitive cost to conventionally available products.
2. Porous Biochar. It is the world’s first non-metal and non-mineral and fully biobased fire resistant material capable of withstanding over 100 minutes in a simulated conditions in BS EN 1634‑1:2014+A1:2018.
BAMBOO TECHNOLOGY – BIL intends to explore the opportunity of capitalizing the carbon sequestrated in China’s bamboo forest. Bamboo Technology is a joint venture with Allied Environmental Consultants Limited (AEC) – publicly listed and one of the best environmental consultants in Hong Kong.
BAMBOO SUSTAINABILITY & INNOVATION – It is a partnership designed to provide bamboo based omnibus solutions to customers with sustainability goals in carbon, energy and other ESG subject matters. Business scope covers:

In Hong Kong, BIL is already the outright bamboo market leader in Hong Kong and well-positioned to capture the upcoming demands for bamboo driven by scope 3 disclosures. We are well-known among architects and developers and has been selected for all the major bamboo projects in the city: Heng Seng University, M+ Museum, HKUST Shaw Auditorium and the latest Hysan Place renovation. BIL is also represented in Netherlands and Germany, and is now entering the Japan market.
