We, Shirakawa Corporation, are a furniture manufacturer that has been making furniture in Hida Takayama, Gifu Prefecture for over 60 years. Hida Takayama is a beautiful place blessed with lush greenery and nature, where various local industries have developed since ancient times.
Since the Jomon period, cultures from the east, west, south, and north have come together and developed in a complex interplay, and the area is known as "Hida no Takumi," or "Hida's Master Craftsman.
This history and culture is connected to the spirit of manufacturing today, and has been passed down through the generations to the modern-day craftsmen.
What we have been pursuing and conveying for over 60 years of furniture making is the "fusion of Japanese beauty and Japanese modernism.
We continue to create products every day based on our design philosophy of "100-year modernity" that will be recognized as fresh even after 100 years.
