Summary of Business

Business Overview & Description
1. Company Profile and Vision
Kawauchi Co., Ltd. is a leather products manufacturer based in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, operating its sustainable leather brand, "enrio". Leveraging years of craftsmanship, Kawauchi produces high-quality leather bags and accessories. Today, the company leads a regional self-sustaining circular economy model that utilizes skin resources from Saitama's brand pork, "Sainokuni Kurobuta".
2. Social Issue & Market Background
Japan's domestic pork skin market faces a severe crisis due to sharp drops in export demand and market price fluctuations. Consequently, valuable hides are at risk of being discarded before being utilized. This collapse of the domestic leather circulation system poses financial challenges to local farmers and tanneries while raising environmental concerns.
3. The "enrio" Circular Economy Model
To resolve this issue, Kawauchi established a regional circular supply chain within Saitama Prefecture:
・100% Traceability: Directly connecting local farms (such as Hashimoto Global Swain), tanneries, and artisans ensures complete supply chain transparency.
・Material Quality: Direct collection preserves raw hide freshness, achieving exceptional softness and durability.
・Resource Upcycling: Transforming potential animal waste into high-value leather goods creates an infinity-loop material flow.
4. Business Services (BtoC & BtoB)
・BtoC: Selling sustainable leather goods directly via the "enrio" EC site (https://enrio-leather.com) and exhibitions.
・BtoB Solutions: Supporting corporate ESG goals through story-driven OEM/ODM production, eco-friendly corporate gifts, and cross-industry co-development projects using 100% traceable leather.
5. Environmental Impact and Outlook
Upcycling regional animal by-products reduces waste and lowers transport-related carbon emissions. Kawauchi aims to expand this self-sustaining regional model nationwide to help rebuild Japan's domestic leather circulation system.
